The person behind the record.

I'm Connor Willoughby, an independent investor, digital designer and publisher based in Kent. I am building a personal portfolio and a connected body of work across markets, technology and long-term projects. The objective is not simply to own more, but to understand more, and to make the reasoning behind the work increasingly clear over time.

My route has not been conventional, and that is one of its strengths. Work in volunteering, hospitality, groundskeeping and food manufacturing gave me a practical understanding of service, operations and consistency. Later placements with the Department for Work and Pensions and a mortgage broker added another view of institutions, finance and the decisions people make around money.

Those experiences taught me that durable work is rarely built through one grand gesture. It is built through judgement, repetition and the willingness to keep improving when nobody is watching. That is the standard I bring to investing, design and every project carrying my name.

Foundation

Early context. Lasting perspective.

Markets were not entirely abstract to me while growing up. Through my nan's work at Walker Crips, the language and rhythms of an investment business sat quietly in the background of my childhood. It was never employment or a formal role on my part; it was simply an early point of reference that made companies, capital and ownership feel real.

That influence mattered, but it is not the whole story. The stronger foundation came from watching people around me work across business, retail and hospitality, then learning through my own working life what reliability looks like from the ground level. Finance gave me a language for ownership; ordinary work gave me respect for what every functioning business demands.

Five years working in a hotel restaurant and learning consistency through service.

Factory work within food manufacturing before leaving the sector in 2023.
